Auto-Correct Problems: Incorrect suggestions or auto-corrections that don't make sense.

Glitches and Freezing: The keyboard behaves erratically or freezes, making it hard to type.

Potential Solutions

To try to resolve these issues, please try following in the order that they are listed:

  1. Try upgrading your OS if you have an upgrade available. You can follow this guide to do this: https://support.google.com/android/answer/7680439?hl=en
  2. Make sure you've updated your keyboard to the latest version. Go to the Google Play store, find the Gboard app, and see if it says there are updates available.
  3. Try clearing the cache to resolve issues. To do this, navigate to Settings > Apps > Gboard > Storage > Clear Cache.
  4. Try using a different keyboard. Here is a list of third party keyboards you can find in the Google Play store that are free to use:
    1. Microsoft SwiftKey
    2. AnySoftKeyboard
    3. Simple Keyboard

Once you have installed a new keyboard app, you must select it in settings. To change your keyboard on Android, go to Settings > System settings > Keyboard and input method > Current keyboard and choose the keyboard (the steps might differ a little depending on your phone).
